Do you want something in your life to be different but you’re not sure what it is? Do you feel like it’s time to make a change, yet you keep doing the same things over and over? Have you heard the voice in your head saying, “something’s gotta give”?
Things are not going to change until you get out of your own way.
In our heads we have, what I like to call, “the hag in the attic”. Translation: our ego mind. It’s part of us. Sometimes it serves us well. Other times, it screws with our desires without us even knowing it.
If you’re stuck in a rut, these may be some of the reasons why:
- You don’t know how to
Maybe you know you’re lacking confidence, but you don’t know how to build it. Truth: you need to work at it. Not all skills are at your fingertips.
- You don’t know what you want.
You don’t need all the answers right now, but nothing will start to change until you start thinking about what you want. Set a goal. Decide on something you want and start working towards it. It’s okay to start small.
- You can’t deal with being uncomfortable.
Jumping into something new can be terrifying. That sick feeling in your stomach, the knocking knees — it’s all part of stepping out of your comfort zone. I can tell you from experience that once you start stepping away from your comfort zone and towards change, the fear will start to subside. Really! Don’t let discomfort keep you stuck. - Don’t give up so easily!
Change takes time. The biggest changes in life won’t reveal themselves until most of the work has been completed. It’s necessary to persevere to see a meaningful change in your life. Learn to finish what you start. Make a list of the things you’ve been putting off. If you’ve set a goal of walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes, avoid letting yourself off the hook until you’re done. You’ve got this!
Making any change can be a challenge, so keep at it! You have everything it takes to create a spectacular life.
Go for it!
